AUTHORS

Chilean visual artist, I studied art at the University of Chile. Then I left my country. The great masters and referents I have encountered in the journey, in Gypsyism, clandestine, in chance, in silence, in the unexpected. The main theme of my work is eroticism and female sexual energy, which developed in different media, painting, sculpture, collage, textiles.

Of Iranian and Swiss descent Vanessa Safavi was born in 1980 in Lausanne, Switzerland. She lives and works between Berlin and Switzerland. In her work, Safavi conjures contrasting polarities of cultural concepts by appropriating its visual language of signs and materials. Lately, her work has increasingly focused on the body addressing conceptual systems of language and personal narratives she explores and questions the contemporary identity of the body in the constant optimisation of technologies and its cultural impacts in our hyper-organised societies that has definitely driven it to a new sphere of identity and to a complex, vulnerable and schizophrenic fragility. Her work recalls the fragility of our bodies and the poetry that emerges from them.

Allan Villavicencio is a visual artist whose pictorial exercise arises from the chance encounter with the accident, regardless of an unstable order, more open to both certainty and failure. Therefore, the unfinished, the fractured, and the worn-down become remarkable qualities in his paintings, superimposed on conventions and traditions. His work was included in solo and group shows in Mexico, France, England, Colombia and Perú and was featured in international press. He has won various awards, including the Mexican Young Creator Scholarship in three terms: 2010, 2013, 2017 (FONCA) or the Acquisition Prize of the National Encounter of Young Art in Aguascalientes (2014). He was selected at the XVI Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial in 2014 and currently in 2018 for the XVIII edition. In 2017, Allan co-founded the artist run space FUEGO, a place dedicated to the production and diffusion of contemporary painting.
